Dear Friends, I am struggling today. All I want to do is go home and home to me is California. I am living in this big house with 3 bedroom and 3 bathrooms an awesome neighborhood and a fantastic view and I feel like I am in prison. So there you go, things do not make us content. I need prayer because I really do not like the house I am living in. I am sure it is the house the Lord wants us in. Our church is close by, doctor, the church where the boys go to scouts, the school is just down the hill and Mark's work is 6 to 7 miles away. So why, why don't I like the house?
Here are some pictures and I want you to tell me what you think, okay?
This a picture of the living area that is fairly decent, still have junk looking for a place to reside besides the couch, floor, etc. The big rock wall is the fireplace. See the wood ceiling?
This is a picture of the staircase that goes up to two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The door that you see at the top of the stairs goes into the boys bedroom, which is huge and has a fantastic view.
This is the dining room on the other end from this is the kitchen. The windows around the dining table look out on the mountains.
This is the view at night. All the city lights of Golden and Lakewood.
This is the view in the opposite direction, toward the mountains. That floating M is for School of the Mines. It is up on the side of a mountain.
So what do you think? Let me know.

Dear Becky, you are still experiencing homesickness. Your home is beautiful!!!!! I love the brick fireplace and the wooden ceiling and those wooden beams in the dining area. Your views are breathtaking!!!!
Philippians 4:11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.
Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
You have been truly blessed. I have a husband who has been unemployed going on 15 months. I have a hard time relating to your grief and depression. Maybe it really is depression. Maybe it is a chemical thing and you need to seek medical help. Maybe it is spiritual. I don't know. You have a loving family, a beautiful home, beautiful views, well, only you know how blessed you are. This must be very frustrating for you. All I know is to pray that you find contentment in God's blessings on your life.
Your friend in Tennessee,
Pam
Thank you Sharon for your gentle words. You are right, I am still homesick, wish I wasn't though.
Pam, thank you for your words. You are right, I do need to be more thankful.
My first thought when I saw your photos was... color! Your house is lovely, but is does look a little, what's the word I'm looking for? Masculine? I think you need some of those feminine touches you always had photos of before at the Blue Cottage.
Those little touches can help make a house a home. Then again, they are just things, and can't fix heart ache on their own. Sometimes we just have a hard time surrendering to God's will. I will pray today that God will help you to surrender, so that you can begin to embrace the new blessing He wanst to give you. Be encouraged, dear Becky!
Sue, thank you for your kind comment and your prayers. You are right about the house, it is masculine, the owner built this house for him and his two sons. So it is a man's house. His current wife told us that him and his sons used to go hunting and at one time there were animal heads hung on the walls. The place definitely has a lodge feeling to it. Maybe it is time for me to embrace the "Lodge" look.
Wow Becky, I really got a bit upset by one of the comments here. I was going to post a reply but then decided to go cool off instead. I took a bath, and when I came out of my room, the most beautiful music was playing throughout my home. IT WAS YOUR BLOG! That was a beautiful gift from you. I know it is tough and I know it is real because I went through it. I want you to be able to express yourself openly no matter what others feel. Now as for that house, I LOVE the dining area. The family area does need a woman's touch there. It is very Colorado. :) I love the stairwell also. After you settle a bit you will be able to add your touches here and there. Hang on. Spring is around the corner and is magical. Much love to you my dear real friend. Cherie
I can see myself living in your house. I love the white walls :) and vaulted ceilings. LOVE the beams! LOVE your dining table area!
I actually love everything the way it is now and personally dont find it masculine.
However, maybe you need to add a touch of pink or decorate similar to your home in Cali so that way you wont miss Cali so much?
I know it must be hard for you to live in a new town and to miss all the things you loved about California. Keep praying and God will help you feel more at peace there. Your feelings are completely normal. You just miss your old town and house, thats understandable! Hang in there :) It will all work out. Besides, you just never know what God has in store! He could have you all moving back home to Cali next year for all you know, right? :) And then you would wish that you werent so hard on yourself. :)
It'll all work out Becky.

Your transition from SoCal to Colorado is a process - be kind to yourself and don't expect all to be joyous right away. Do however, hold dear those things you notice right off that are sweet to your heart. More will follow until it will be running over with a multitude of joyful moments. :o)
Your home has many clean lines and warmth. Now is the time to offer up a few touches that are decidedly YOU.
Love the scriptures shared - hold them dear. One step at a time, dear friend. I'm praying. <><
